Of course, when you do post to your blog, you need to post relevant, useful information about the product you are promoting, or the concept you are selling. Another thing you can do to promote your blog is to create articles which you submit to free article directories which provide readers with real, useful information, and which also contain links to your blog where people can find out more. Creating useful links to your blog will help both real people and the search engines find it.
It may take some time to get traffic to your blog, but once you do, the rewards will be well worth it. However, once you do start getting real traffic, do not sit back and rest on your laurels. You may not have to update your blog quite as often, but in order to keep ranking highly in the search engines, you do need to provide updates every so often.
